Hall of Fame

Julia Goldsworthy- Class of 2009

Julia had an outstanding career at Central Bucks South in Soccer and field hockey. Julia was a four-year varsity letter winner and two-time team captain for the Titans Soccer program and three-year varsity letter winner and team captain for the Titans Field Hockey program. Julia made team history during her outstanding senior field hockey season as the Titans finished with an overall record of 20-4-1. The team was the Suburban One Continental Conference Champions, PIAA District One runner up and PIAA AAA State semi-finalist. During Julia’s soccer career, she led the Titans to a team record in wins (22-2), with losses only in the district and state competition. Julia was named a four time Suburban One All League soccer player earning honorable mention as a freshman, second team as a sophomore, and first team honors as a junior and senior. In 2009, Julia led the Suburban One League in goals and was named the Suburban One League Continental Conference player of the year. At the state level, Julia received regional All-American Honors and was named to the Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association All-State Team. Julia earned a scholarship to continue her athletic and academic career at Virginia Tech. At Virginia Tech, Julia contributed to the Hokies’ four straight ACC Tournament appearances.  

Taylor Hojnacki- Class of 2014

Taylor was an outstanding member of the Central Bucks South winter and spring track and field team. During her high school career, Taylor set the Central Bucks South school record in shot put (43’ 6.25”) and discus (148’ 0”). Taylor was a seven time Suburban One League Champion in discus and shot put, qualifying for Districts and States all four years at Central Bucks South. Taylor is a two-time PIAA District One Champion in shot put and two-time PIAA District One Champion in discus. Taylor earned 2nd place at the Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association Indoor championships in shot put and was a two-time PIAA AAA State Champion in discus during her 2013 and 2014 seasons. Taylor was a two-time qualifier for the Penn Relays in discuss placing 3rd in 2014. Taylor finished her high school career ranked 48th in the nation in discus. Taylor went on to compete on the University of Pennsylvania’s women’s track and field team. Taylor is the seventh all-time record holder at UPenn in the shot put and discus and earned two Ivy League team championships during the 2018 indoor and outdoor seasons.

Don Li- Class of 2009

Don Li was an accomplished member of the school community at Central Bucks South. During his high school career, Don founded the Barclay Buddies program, which allowed students from CB South to mentor younger students. Don also served as National Honor Society president, Student Council Vice President, and President of Science Olympiad. Don represented CB South at the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Sciences the summer after his junior year. During his senior year, Don was awarded the Harvard Book Award, the Science Award, the Math Award, the Marine Corps Scholastic Award, the Rotary Club Award, the French Award, and the Principal’s Award. Don was selected as a National Merit Finalist, was recognized as a Da Vinci Science Scholar, was elected Junior Prom King in 2008, and graduated as the Valedictorian. After graduation, Don attended Yale College where he pursued a joint B.S./M.S. program in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics. There, Don served as a freshman counselor, the assistant master and activities director of Yale Summer Session, an executive board member and party Chairman of the Yale Political Union, and Chairman of the Davenport housing committee. After graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2013 from Yale College, Don pursued a joint M.D/Ph.D degree at Yale School of Medicine. There, Don served as the President of the Students Helping Students program, the president of the Yale Orthopedics Interest Group, the Head Affiliate for Davenport’s graduate affiliate program, and a committee member for the curriculum review committee. Don was recognized as a prize teaching fellow by the graduate school, was recognized as a Farr Scholar by the medical school and won the Frank Parker Prize, the Perkins Scholarship Prize, the Yale MD/PhD Alumni Graduation Award, and the Endocrinology Society Medical Student Achievement Awards at graduation. Currently Don is an Orthopedic Surgery resident at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Don has won the NIH F30 Grant and been recognized with the Hibbs Best Clinical Research Paper Award by the Scoliosis Research Society. Don has authored a book chapter, published over 20 peer reviewed manuscripts, and presented over 20 abstracts at national and international conferences on Pediatric Orthopedics.

Rodney Stone- Retired in 2011

Rod Stone spent nearly 40 years serving the Central Bucks School District community. Mr. Stone served as principal of two Central Bucks high schools, district technology coordinator, business teacher, athletic director, and coach. Mr. Stone’s career in the district started in 1973 when he was hired to teach accounting, business law and marketing at Central Bucks West.  From 1974-1993, Mr. Stone, assumed the Head wrestling coach duties at Central Bucks West where he had five undefeated seasons, led the Bucks to the 1981 PIAA District One and Southeastern Regional titles. He was named Bux-Mont Coach of the Year four times, PIAA District One coach of the year once, and Suburban One League Coach of the Year once. Mr. Stone served as the Athletic Director at Central Bucks West from 1984-1993 before becoming the principal at CB West. Mr. Stone was then named the Principal at Central Bucks High School South in 2004 serving until his retirement in 2011. As the Principal of CB South, Mr. Stone was instrumental in the planning, design, and organization of the school. During his influential career, Mr. Stone was on the PIAA District One Wrestling Steering Committee, a Pennsylvania State Athletic Directors Association Treasurer, PIAA District One Treasurer and on the PIAA Board of Directors. Mr. Stone was also inducted into the Central Bucks/Central Bucks High School West Hall of Fame, and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame. Mr. Stone currently serves as the PIAA District One Executive Director.
 

2009 Boys 4x800m Relay Team- Jeff Dickson, Dave Manion, Matt Poiesz and Tom Mallon.

The CB South 4x800 Meter Relay team had a career marked by milestones. The relay team was a PIAA District One champion earning 1st place in the 4 x 800-meter in 2009, setting the PIAA District One record, which they still hold to date. The team’s success continued at the state and National level. In 2009, the team placed first in the 4x800-meter relay at the PIAA AAA state championships. As well as earning a first-place finish in the 4x800-meter relay at the Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association Indoor championships. The relay team went on to compete at the 2009 Nike Indoor National Championships where they placed 3rd in the nation and placed 3rd in the Penn Relays Championship of America race, as the top PA team. Due to their success, the team was named 2009 Indoor All Americans and Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association All-State. The Titans still hold the PIAA District One, PIAA All-Time and National Federation of High School Sports 4x800 meter record.
